I was sadly disappointed to learn that the McRib farewell tour won’t even be visiting NE Ohio. While they don’t show it very clearly, the map of where the tour is visiting doesn’t appear to show any locations in the NE USA… Here’s hoping it isn’t really a farewell… The McRib is juicy goodness…no matter how artificial it might be… ---

The McRib or “makku ribbu”　is also available at McDonald’s Japan outlets for about 3 weeks, once or twice a year. I love them. 🙂 ---

My great-grandmother, who NEVER ate fast food, somehow got a hold of a McRib one year. After that, whenever she saw them advertised as being available, she would order my dad to McDonald’s so that she could buy them for her and my whole family. The urgency she implied was as if it were a life-saving mission. I was never really a fan, but wanted to let you know I believe my great-grams approves of your boycott even in the afterlife. ---

You’ve got to be kidding me. Folks, just grab yourself a Gardenburger meatless rib patty and some French bread if you want something that is both healthy and tasty. No, I’m not a vegetarian but I don’t care how good the sauce may be, pig snouts & anuses are not on the menu. The only upside is that, after a few of those, you just might be ready for Fear Factor. ---

::sigh:: Why is it that everyone assumes that McDonald’s products are made of the absolute worst products ever? With all of the millions (billions?) of dollars of profit that McD’s has made over the years, do you really think that they would throw in the snouts and assholes in order to save 2 or 3 cents a case? (because those two parts represent such a small part, by weight, of the finished product.) McD’s isn’t gourmet by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s really no reason to believe that they’re feeding what you imply that they are. ---

But your claim misses the point that the millions (billions?) of dollars of profit made by McDonald’s might arise precisely from the sort of cost-cutting that you claim isn’t. happening. When you sell as much stuff as McDonald’s does, saving a few cents per unit can lead to massive increases in total profit. ---
