Kat, I agree with yours. My Room 101 would contain junebugs, bees, horseflies, moths, etc. Any insect bigger than a housefly with fast-moving wings just sends chills up and down my spine. I was stung by a bee in my formative years, and as the twig inclines, so grows the tree, as the old adage says. But if they wanted a confession, they’d have to torture me. How, you ask? By threatening my brain. I could stand to lose a limb or two, but I’d rather die than end up a brain-damaged submoron. I think a rock and a strong psycho would about do it. Or a crash-test. ---

Good call. This isn’t the place for personal anecdotes, but I’ve peaked through the keyhole of that room, and wholeheartedly agree with you on that one. I’m fine with insects. I got over my fear of spiders ages ago. Bugs are merely interesting to me…except…maybe…the BOT FLY. Which bourghes under the skin, plants their larva, then weeks later the maggots eat their way out. That might concievable play a part in my Room 101. That and social ridicule. ---

Room 101 contains a very narrow well, which they shove you down into head first so that you’re trapped upside down in the blackness with your arms pinned tightly to your sides. Struggling will only cause you to inch ever deeper into the well. Maybe there are a lot of big roaches crawling around inside the well for good measure. And they leave you there. Now, think about that picture for a few minutes, and tell me how you feel. ---
