I don’t think she’d be a bad choice per se, but I think CBS would be most fearful of losing continuity–once she gets tired of it (a year? two?), she’d bail and then they’d have to find a new replacement much sooner than they’d prefer. [/QUOTE] I actually don’t think she’d be a bad choice either, in general. She actually doesn’t bother me – her stridency and opinionated nature notwithstading. Apparently, that’s at least partly why she was chosen for _The View_. I’m just not sure what we’d see if she happened to be having a bad day or, in the long run, what she’d be like in a format like TPIR where only her personality and not her opinions is what counts. I think for this reason, she’d get bored and bail within six months, myself. ETA: Interesting article about Barker. Seems like he’s cutting off his nose to spite his face. I guess that’d match the “near-sneer” I always saw hovering there. ---

Before she became an angry nutwing, she had a very successful talk show where she was affable and fun and I could have totally seen her doing The Price Is Right. And once upon a time, Michael Jackson was the hottest thing on earth. As they say, that was then, this is now. She’ll still get headlines from time to time because her blog gives her the opportunity to continue putting her streams of consciousness out in the public domain. But her days as a mainstream anything (spokesman, entertainer, comedienne) are over. ---

Price is Right is where she belongs. This woman’s opinions are some of the most shrill, ignorant, jingoistic tripe ever spewed forth on television. She belongs hosting meaningless frivel to entertain bored housewives and the unemployed. Biggest problem I see is when she hosts the supermarket item pricing game she’ll probably eat all the items before the contestant gets a chance to guess how much they are! 😃 ---

The biggest problem I see is her unprofessionalism, which I’m sure she would describe as being “real” and “honest.” But she gets in arguments with people, she alienates people, she is so incredibly inflexible and invested in her own POV that attempts to work with her break down and she ends up at best not fulfilling her contract (_The View_) and at worst embroiled in long expensive lawsuits (_Rosie_ magazine). Either way, adverse publicity and controversy seem to follow. _The Price Is Right_ doesn’t want controversy. They don’t want to talk about the injustice of the lack of gay marriage or the travesty of the Iraq war. They want you to guess how much a six pack of Yoo-Hoo costs and to try to keep the yodeling moutaineer from falling off the cliff. Rosie has too much baggage and she’s demonstrated her lack of people skills\* and professionalism. I think she’d be a terrible choice. - “People skills” with the people she actually works with or for, or who work for her; not the surface charm of playing to an audience. ---
