At this point, I honestly can’t tell which would be funnier: a) These people, Rosie, Warden, Potato, and Idnew are 4 different people, on here just as a joke, trying to get a rise out of us. I would honestly have to give them an A for effort because this has been quite entertaining to read. The detail they use to go into each others lives, it must take a lot of time. Kudos. or… b) These four people are all real. This is actually their life. They really are so ignorant, they can’t spell, they can barely read, and they lack the intellectual capacity to determine that we are making fun of them. The only thing going for them is that they have rudimentary computer skills and, from what I can determine from the pictures, opposable thumbs. or… c) Well…um…anyone here every seen Fight Club? :eek: :eek: :eek: ---

I just read this thread out of curiosity and wondering what caused such a high post count. I read through the straight dope for a few weeks before deciding to join. I spotted a few feeding frenzies before and ignored them, though it seems lately a lot of people are being accused of being ‘undesirables’ here. This one seems to be not only a feeding frenzy, but the buzzards are landing to pick the corpse. The Straight Dope suffers from mob mentality. From some of you, with your well thought out, well written posts, I had expected better of but you make it very clear that beneath the veneer of intelligence often lies arrogance and hostility. I read a thread on war, where the poster wondered if there would ever be a time of no war. Very interesting answers, but from the actions here of people who are well educated, some in school to be lawyers, some obviously well educated, several apparently ‘professional students’ in this post, I would say no. Humans need little excuse to attack other humans. It is very dramatically displayed here in. ---

Good point chromium. Let me talk to you about something. As you have undoubtedly noticed, there are some seriously intelligent people on here. Mopst of us are here to learn, and contribute when we can. We’re a pretty great bunch of people, IMHO. we can get a little over protective of the boards, but it’s better than not caring at all. Normally we try to ignore these people, but on occasion, we get one that goes over the top. The poster"s" in question were hijacking other threads with this feud. They have nothing to contribute.
