# Rove Live...

Here’s something that entered my head for no apparent reason when watching Rove Live (an Australian variety show which features interviews and performances by music and movie stars):

When celebretries appear on shows like this, does the show pay the guest (for giving them something to actually show) or does the guest pay the show (for giving them publicity?). Both ways seem perfectly feasible for me  
O is it all done for chocolate?

It probably depends.

In most cases, I’d imagine, the guest does it for the publicity, and the show does it for the ratings and everyone kicks a goal and goes home happy.

I’m sure that in some cases, one pays the other, but I’d imagine that these are in the minority. (At least in this country)

same for radio stations, does the station pay the label and artist for their music, or do the label and artist pay the station for giving them radio exposure?

In the case of celebrity guests on **talk** shows (_chat_ shows to you) the guest is usually paid union minimum.

This is how is works for the Tonight Show. All guests are paid something like $535.
