I suspect there are lots of people on those ships in interior staterooms thinking “I really should have shelled out for a Veranda Room.”
Ahhhh, balcony. Yeah, I always went out of my way to book the cheapest room possible. A friend told me there are far worse rooms than I had. He played drums on a few cruises and the band had rooms he described as just a bit bigger than a janitor’s closet.
When we went with our daughter, there was an additional daily charge for her, very clearly shown, with no difference to the room charge.
On our last cruise, through the Panama Canal, we had a balcony room but only spend more time there when we went through the locks, because it was much nicer than dealing with the crowds on deck. We spend slightly more time there than when we had an interior room, but not that much more. If I were by myself, though, I could have seen spending more time on the balcony.
I just tried again. One state room (that the description says will sleep 4 people), and 2 occupants is $381 per person. One state room (that the description says will sleep 4 people) and 3 occupants is $492 per person.
No mention of a room fee. These are the per person prices. Makes no sense.
I will try clearing the cash, or having someone else check on a different computer.
And I am looking at cruises latter this year, or next year. Nothing during the outbreak.
A nice cruise will clear out your cash for you… ![]()
