I dunno. I think the problem here might be that a message board doesn’t do justice to nature of the Pom – Prison Dodger relationship-dialogue. In my experience, the whole thing depends on understanding that just about everything is said a little tongue-in-cheek. Maybe **royjwood** doesn’t think **Gary** was really pulling him up for it cos the Dodgers are all insensitive bastards anyway. ---

I think you’re right, with two caveats; (1) at the point where it was pretty bloody obvious that tempers were rising, he was asked (twice, I think) whether he was joking, and (2) apparently he’s from Texas. I think the Pom-Aussie thing works much better when the two protagonists are… well… Poms & Aussies. ---
