Ruin Old Film Plot By Adding Cell Phones To Story

I know this is a zombie, but I had to add…

About half the episodes of Seinfeld wouldn’t work today because of cell phones. A lot of plots seemed to revolve around the gang trying to meet up somewhere or coordinate something where someone got separated. Like the one where they tried to see a movie and then Jerry had a late gig and they all ended up at different shows. Or where George was speeding and they got separated on the way to Susan’s cabin. Then there’s the parking garage, or the one where George raced to Jerry’s apartment to let him know he should answer the phone “Vandelay Industries”…

OK, Lynn posted a long time ago in this thead about sometimes being taken “out” of a book or movie by the lack of technology. That doesn’t bother me because I know enough of the history of technology (having lived through a lot of it) to be able to read a book written in 1975 (frinstance) and know what they had and what they didn’t. It must be very difficult for (say) a current teen or 20-something to read a book from that era, not knowing what computers and phones were like.

Now, my contribution: “Granny, I’m stopping to pick some flowers by the side of the road, that this nice wolf showed me. So I’ll be a little bit late. Luv u.”
