Male straight 48 When women find out how many kids I have, or how old I am, the comment on my relatively youthful appearance. Otherwise, the comments are few and far between, and generally relate to my fitness (arms, body fat, etc.) or that my head is well shaped so I could shave my head. ---

Female Straight 35 While living in Mexico as a teenager I got a lot of “you’re so pretty” random complements, but nothing specific singled out. Since leaving Mexico to go to college (at age 20), no man has complemented me on any physical characteristic whatsoever, except for one instance of “you’re nice and tall” from a very tall guy: does that count? (What changed, I think: I’m tremendously antisocial. In Mexico I’d meet people when hanging out with Mom, who’s very social; in the US I only meet people through school/work, where personal complements are less appropriate. I do get mad props for my leet mouse surgery skillz on a regular basis.) Women (particularly grandmotherly types) like my hair (it makes cute sausage curls when so inclined). ---

Female Straight 39 in umm, 2 weeks. My eyes (although they look at my 40K cleavage when they say it) Women often talk about my hair or how they hate me because my eyelashes are so dark they look like i’m wearing mascara even though I never am. ---

Female 39 straight breasts. the only person who ever compliments me is my husband, and that is definitely the one I hear the most. I’d like to think the only reason I don’t get compliments from others is because they accurately pick up my vibe that it would only make me uncomfortable and otherwise they would be constantly bringing up my beautiful big blue eyes. That’s what I compliment myself on most. ---

Female straight early 30s Men first note my hair (though women do too) because red is eye-catching, and then how fair-skinned I am. I think “ungodly pale” but they say thing like “milky” which sounds nicer. Some men talk to my breasts, but I don’t think they mind. ---

Male 33 Straight Most often heard public praise: Hands and voice. My SO routinely goes to town on how amazingly delicious my mouth/lips are and how squishable I am. The squishable part is kind of weird, since I only weigh 140lbs, but my skin is pretty flexible. To each their own. Who am I to complain or tell her she is nuts? ---
