# Rules on promoting web sites.

I know the rules state you can’t promote a website, but can link to it for a cite/quote. Here’s my question. Can I link to it if it’s because I’m so damn proud of my brother to front a band that finally has a site? None of you know me personally, so no way to know why I’d be so proud. On the off chance I could, what forum would be appropriate?

(I’m sure it’s all for naught, just want to make sure)

Speaking personally (and with no authority at all) - I don’t see why a thread linking to it in MPSIMS wouldn’t be OK.

I agree with **grimpixie** , and so am moving this to the ABOUT THIS MESSAGE BOARD forum.

Such a link would be OK, assuming the website itself is no objectionable. A thread about how proud you are of your brother probably belongs in MPSIMS.
