I can’t think of anything that would make me much happier than for Roy to throw his pointy hat in the ring. If he doesn’t get his CJ job back he’s gonna run for governor in two years anyway (and will probably win) but just think of the mischief he could do running for president this year! Just think of all those pissed off religious nutjobs who’d vote for him instead of Dubya if only given the opportunity. Think of all those red states that Dubya won by a few thousand votes that could tip to the Democrats. Why, if he could siphon off as few as 250,000 votes in Alabama the Democrats could even win it!
Alabama Dopers, please write to Roy and tell him to run! Everyone else, form “Draft Roy” committees in your states! I can see the bumper stickers now:
