Running in Andrew's memory

I’m just bumping this to say that according to the website (www.rnrmarathon.com) our illustrious JillGat completed this marathon yesterday in a chip time of 5:12. Congratulations!

And I know for a fact she met her fundraising goal of $5,000, so it’s kudos all around.

When you get back and you’re resting your feet, let us know what you thought of the experience.

Thanks! The race was a blast and - other than not being able to stand up after stooping the next day - I recovered just fine and am ready to train for another one. I’m trying to rationalize my slow time (nursing an injured running partner on the route, slowing down as we passed blues bands, moving at all in the middle of 20,000 participants at the start, being 50 years old, etc.) because I ran a marathon 27 years ago in San Diego in 3 hrs., 55 min… But it wasn’t a competitive event for most of us, anyway. I finished strong, had a great time and raised almost $5000 for blood cancer research and patient services. Andrew’s name was displayed prominently on my race jersey, along with other honored patients. Thank you all for your support.
