I found books on tape to be my salvation from the boredom. I go to the library and check out all the books I’ve been meaning to read but never got around to. Then I listen to the books. It’s win - win all around.

I get to “read” the books and I don’t get bored.

You can also go to the [Archive.org](http://Archive.org) and download tons for public domain material from OTR (old time radio) shows. When you’re running (working out) to Jack Benny or “Burns & Allen” the time flies by fast.

I’m similar. I’m reluctant to start running and I don’t particularly enjoy it while doing it. But, afterwards, once it’s behind me, I’m always glad I did it.

And then there’s the afterburn where for the next couple of hours you’re still burning calories for free just sitting around.
