Bumping this thread to let everyone know that Beyond the Lighted Stage will be airing on VH1 Classic this Saturday, June 26th from 9:00 to 11:30. They’re also showing Classic Albums - Moving Pictures right before it at 8:00 on Saturday, and both of them are being rerun several times through Monday.

This seems odd. Why would they show it on free TV when they’re playing it in theaters? Seems like it would steal away a lot of their ticket sales…

Its only a limited run in theaters. Initially, it was one night, mostly one theater per city. Response has been overwhelming and extra showings have been added. But like a lot of documentaries and such, this is not meant to be a movie theater type of movie. Most of the money for the movie will be made on DVD sales. Showing this on tv will not impact that.
As a fan, I loved the movie.

Also airing Saturday is VH1 Classic’s Classic Albums show covering both 2112 and Moving Pictures.

Sweet! I’m going to see them next Thursday night - my first Rush concert in 25 years - and am already pumped. This is just icing on the cake.

Yeah, I didn’t get to see that either. I had it set to record, but then they showed the last hour of Top 100 something somethings instead.
I found a couple websites that say the Moving Pictures/2112 Classic Album shows will be on DVD in September.

VH1 playing it in Los Angeles. I was amazed they had such good home movies with good sound quality form back in the late 60s, early 70s.
Wow was Geddy one ugly man back in the day. Strangly, he seems to have aged better than his bandmates and is now the best looking.

Saw it in the theater with my bro, he’s a HUGE Rush fan. He had the date set aside for months.
It was much more balanced that I thought it would be. It was a good mix of, pics, video, interviews, live performance, recorded songs, and celebrity reminiscing.
I most recently saw Rush on the Snakes and Arrows tour, and was quite impressed, especially given my expectations. The movie was that, and more.
Peart doesn’t even sign autographs. Yet, they managed to extract a lot out of him, even a decent amount about his tragic losses.
If you’re a Rush fan… you need to see this movie. If not… why are you even reading this?

So I saw this over the weekend.
Is Sebastian Bach an idiot or what? I want to kick him out of the club he’s so damn stupid.
Otherwise it was a lot of fun and about what you’d expect from a band that does focus so well and doesn’t do the ‘offstage escapades’ thing so much. They did seem to skip Alex’s trouble with the law, though.
