Alternately, it’s possible that Putin did order airstrikes against Wagner, and they didn’t happen, and so now he needs someone to blame. This whole thing looks a lot more like “Prigozhin got what he wanted” than “Putin planned it”. The only mystery is what exactly was it that Prigozhin wanted, and what assurances he has that he does have it (and will keep it). ---

Perhaps people who rejoin the army will be formed into a new organization? I’m sure Putin would love to have some leading the charge, but can he trust them?
