The tank has machine guns and other small arms it can fire at close-in “targets”. The tank commander didn’t do this. At least one of the Russian tank crew was sitting partially in the open and was vulnerable to attack. The civilians didn’t do this. I see a lot of Posing going on. A lot of signals being sent. Of course this video is only one encounter but the Russian and Ukrainian people have many connections and I’m not sure there’s much of an appetite for blood in the conflict as a whole. I wonder how much these armies really want to inflict actual injury and death on their cousins. ---

Like the English have any moral authority on spellings and pronunciation in their _own_ language, let alone anybody else’s. Thames – pronounced “tems” Lancastershire – no, not “lan-cast-er-shire” , “lan-ca-sheer.” Fetherstonehaugh – “feather-stone-haw”? No…FANSHAW!! It’s no wonder those people lost the empire. And BTW, the Ukranian pronunciation is “keev”, not “key-ev”. One syllable. The other is Russian. ---
