It must be hard to find anyone who wants to take over as manager of that tank factory, or shipyard, or any of those other businesses. I wonder if Putin has thought through all of the implications of that? I’d think that he’d want tank factories and shipyards to be operating at their most efficient, right around now. ---

Trivia note: when I was last in Russia (in 1995), window screens were Not a Thing. Neither was air conditioning. That meant the choices were to leave the win shut and stifle (it was summer, and even in Siberia, summer can be quite toasty), or open them and be eaten alive by the mosquitoes. I never realized that window screens could serve such an important safety function. ---

FWIW putin is on his 4th (or 5th?) “head of Ukraine special operations” in about 10 months … so - don’t bet your farm on that ---
