It is pretty easy to identify these ships.
Ships in DNC photo are, from lead ship:
Frigate Krivak class unidentified
Frigate Neustrashimy class _Neustrashimy_
Destroyer Kashin class _Smetlivy_
Cruiser Kara class _Kerch_
Democrats FAIL

**moonshot925** , apparently you’re still getting the hang of things around here.
Please indicate that quoted material is quoted, either by placing it in a quote box or by putting quotation marks around it.
That said, don’t quote extensive sections of copyrighted material, esp. when you provide the link right there.
Third, please have some content to an OP beyond a quote and/or a link – state an opinion or make some other point. This board is dedicated to discussion, and a link alone is not considered sufficient grounds for a discussion. Why are you posting it? What do you think about it?

No they weren’t. At least according to wikipedia, the earliest Neustrashimyy class vessel post-dates the fall of the Soviet Union.
But in anycase, I doubt some intern at the DNC grabbing the wrong clip-art is going to save the Romney campaign.

Two pics (one of US aircraft - one of Russian ships) were photoshopped together to put that on the ‘split screen.’ But, knowing the DNC is full of commies, I’d bet the guy who put this together knew those were Russian ships - and delighted in using them!

Neustrashimy was laid down on March 25, 1987. She was launched on May 25, 1988 and entered service on December 28, 1990. She became part of the Baltic Fleet on March 14, 1991.
All of this was before the Soviet Union dissolved on December 26, 1991.
So she was indeed a Soviet era warship.
