No, we’re saying “fucking face” instead of just “kisser” or “gob,” which sounds quaint and not strong enough.

Yeah, I’ve looked into this a bit, and it does seem to be related to _yebat’_, which means “to fuck.” So translating it as “fucking face” captures both the intensity and the root of the word. It’s probably about as close as you can get, both idiomatically and in terms of literal meaning.

And the adjective yebalni, which is the adjectival form of fucking. I did a deep dive into my dictionary of Russian obscenities and it’s a very old root. Bottom line, you would never use the word in polite society.
