While going to moving sales and antique stores looking for a small library card catalog for my lab I ended up buying an original ~1920 Russian Whites propaganda poster which is called Vozmezdie (Retribution). While I understand most of the imagery I am confused by one portion. The poster depicts the Russian nationalists driving numerous Bolshevik leaders to hell. What is in the sack, whom is this person and what is the intended meaning of him sitting on he devils knee? ---
