Remember my news from a couple weeks ago? [Here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=450789) it is. Well the sad news I have to report is that my wife just suffered a miscarriage, in her 8th week. I can’t express how bummed we are. ☹☹☹ Ed ---

I’m so sorry. It was the SDMB that taught me how sad and even devastating a miscarriage can be, and I offer my condolences. ---

My sister is eleven weeks along and had heavy bleeding and cramping this weekend. I know the love you can feel for that little life you’ve barely met and the fear that goes along with that love. My sister was lucky, but my heart still breaks for you and your wife, that you were not. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. ---

I don’t want to sound like I’m spewing platitudes, but you can get through this, just keep trying. I have three beautiful kids, but there were also two miscarriages. This probably doesn’t help right now, but believe me, you’re not alone. ---

**suranyi** , I am so sorry. My wife and I went through many losses and I understand your pain. Hold your wife, remind her how much you love her and pull closer together. My wife found some comfort talking with people on the [INCIID](http://www.inciid.org/) message boards and going to meetings of [Share](http://www.nationalshareoffice.com/). And don’t forget that, although you want to be the stoic man, it is OK for you to cry and grieve. My thoughts and prayers (if you’ll have them) go to you, your wife and your baby.
