I actually don’t know – I never heard exactly which Officer Candidates were involved. I’m not sure if anything should happen to them – the DI - Officer Candidate relationship (and the sex was during training, not after commissioning) is so unbalanced I’m not sure if it’s possible for there to be full awareness and consent.

I misread your post. I thought that the asshole DIs had demoted other people for having sex with officer candidates.

Yeah, having sex with the person you have the power to fail out of a career is highly suspicious and unprofessional at best.

I have a difficult time believing this. _Three_ pullups? _After_ going thru training?

It looks like it’s [true.](http://www.military.com/military-fitness/marine-corps-fitness-requirements/marine-corps-basic-training) That is the absolute bare minimum on that event or you fail. It only gets you 15 of 100 points possible on that event. In the three event test \*300 points total max) you need 135 points to pass at the absolute minimum. Getting 60 points in each of the other events requires 60 crunches and 24:40 three mile run time for the 17-26 age group. You can’t make it into the top tier of scores with three pullups even if you max the other events.

I’d assume that score affects promotion. I’d also assume the majority are not hovering right at or near the bare minimum when they pass. I’d also assume that a new Marine showing up with a 3 pullup, 135 point total score PFT is going to get a lot of junior NCO love when he gets to his first duty stations.

Reminds me of a recent scandal over instructors at Air Force BMT sexually assaulting trainees (to include statutory rape, since a trainee in Basic can’t consent to sex with an instructor). At least a few of the MTIs found themselves serving prison time as a result.
