The entire “Chavaleh” sequence from _Fiddler on the Roof_ always gets me. Pretty much all of _What Dreams May Come_. The Mirror of Erised scene from _Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone_ where Harry sees his parents. The end of _Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon_, where Jen’s [i believe that’s her name] boyfriend finds her on the bridge and she retells the story he told her about the boy who jumped from the mountain and just flew away, then says, “Make a wish, Lo,” and jumps . . . Ehhh. I need to see that tonight. ---

After 4 1/2 pages, nobody mentioned **Field of Dreams**? When Archie (Moonlight) Grahm was standing on the edge of the baseline (watching the girl fall off of the bleachers and was choking on a hot dog), realizing that if he crossed it, he could never go back to his youth and yet Ray knew he was a doctor who could save his daughter’s life and spent that moment in quiet desperation to see if Archie would cross the line and give up baseball to save his daughter. Then after Archie saves her, Ray then realizes that Archie can’t go back…he aged back to his old self, thanked Ray for what he’s done and then walks to the cornfield… And, at the very end of the movie, when Shoeless Joe Jackson reveals Ray’s father to him, and Ray asks his dad to play catch with him and the father said, “I’d like that very much”… I’m weeping now while I’m typing this, probably because I haven’t seen my real father since I was nine years old. I don’t know if the end has the same effect for the rest of you, but for me, that when the river starts flowing… ---

Oh boy, I’ve got a lot… First, **Legomancer** , I totally agree with Ben Stiller’s line at the end **Royal Tenenbaums**. That whole movie is beautiful and sad. Second, **Mothchunks** , I totally agree with that **Dances With Wolves** scene. Great stuff!! Here’s my list… **Braveheart** - at the end when Wallace is dying on the torture table, he looks out and sees Murron’s ghost walking through the crowd. **The Sixth Sense** - the scene towards the end when Cole and his Mom are in the car and are talking about his grandmother/her mother. Wow! **In the Name of the Father** - When Giuseppe dies and all the inmates throw burning paper out the prison windows. **Return to Paradise** - At the prison, Anne Heche says she’ll take her brothers body home, then she’s coming back for Vince Vaughn. **Bowling for Columbine** - when he shows the planes crashing into the WTC - and when he shows the actual footage from inside the school during the shooting, with the 911 calls being heard over it. **Magnolia** - the Amiee Mann song **Seven** - when Gwenneth Paltrow is talking to Morgan Freeman about her pregnancy. She is so vulnerable and is soooo in need to hear something positive, that when Morgan Freeman says, “If you decide to keep the baby, you spoil that kid rotten” she totally gives in and cries. **Contact** - When Ellie is on Vega and her “Dad” says, “You (humans) have such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost. So alone.” Also, at then at the very end of the movie, when the words “For Carl” appear on screen. **LA Story** - When Steve Martin and (I forgot her name) turn into children and walk through that magic garden with the Enya music in the back. **City of Angles** - There are a bunch of these moments in this movie, but the two that stand out are when Meg Ryan has to tell the family in the waiting room that their father/husband didn’t make it. The other was when Meg Ryan dies at the end **Titanic** - Another one where there were a whole lot of different “teary” parts. But the part that got me the most was when Rose says, “He saved me every way a person can be saved.” ---

For the record i hate **City of Angels** - because it’s bloody brilliant and is one of only two films that cuts through my carefully cultivated “guy who never cries” image. everytime it gets to: “I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it. One.” i blubb like a baby. (for the record the other film is **Dead Poet’s Society** - the “Oh Captain my Captain” scene.) ---

**Legends of the Fall** - Has many sad scenes. But the saddest is when Tristan is with his little brother (?), who dies, and Tristan curses god (just before he cuts his brother’s heart out). ---

I have a problem here. Sad and “makes me cry” are not the same thing! “Oh captain, my captain” has some sadness to it, but it’s brave and wonderful as well. Bambi’s mom being shot is SAD. ---

At the end of Dumb & Dumber, when Harry gets shot and you think he’s dead, when Lloyd says, “Oh my god, you just shot my best friend!” I cried during that part. ---

EXT JENNY’S GRAVE Forrest looks down at the grave marker. Forrest: And every night we read a book. He’s so smart Jenny, you’d be so proud of him. He uh, wrote a letter, and he says I can’t read it. I’m not supposed to, so I’ll just leave it here for you. Forrest places the letter down at the grave marker, next to fresh flowers. The name on the envelope reads “Mom.” Forrest steps back and looks down at the grave. Forrest: Jenny, I don’t know if Momma was Right, or if, if it’s Lieutenant Dan. I don’t know if we each have a Destiny, or if we’re all just floating Around accidental-like on a breeze, But I think maybe it’s both. Maybe Both is happening at the same time. I miss you Jenny.
