**King Nifty** is a poster who recently gained fame by demanding proof for personal anecdotes (for example, wanted proof that some one overheard a conversation they posted about). RE: your OP - I am against animal torture, but the proper response, is of course, to call the cops and report it. Going at the neighbor w/a baseball bat as suggested in the OP will net the bat weilder criminal charges. ---

Ok…Turn your first neighbor to the police for animal cruelty, your second neighbor for assault, and move the hell out of this neighborhood… On a second thought, since you seem to think this story is the funniest thing ever, I think we would all be better off if you stayed in this neighborhood with the other psychos… ---

If this is a true story and the guy would live next to me, he wouldn’t get of with just a broken leg. As for legal consequences : they would have to find his body first 🙂 ---

I do **feel** that the death-penalty would be in order for anyone who treats any living creature like this. 😕 I know it is a double-standard, but that is how I feel about people torturing animals. I have a much higher esteem for animals than for humans, and especially these bi-pedal cro-magnon motherfuckers who think it is funny to hurt animals. ---

Every neighborhood has a kid who did this. he chases stray dogs with rocks and tries to break their legs. Ditto. he also likes to catch cats and bury them up to their heads and run them over with a lawnmower. This kid lived a block and a half from me back in the 60s. Sigh. :rolleyes: ---

Though the events might not have happened exactly as they were relayed to us, it could still be true that this person exists and that he tortures animals. I remember some years ago before my favorite cat got cancer and died that another cat in the neighborhood had been caught by 3 teenage guys and tortured. They doused it in kerosene and gasoline and lit the cat on fire. They watched it burn until they were caught by the cat’s human who covered the poor feline in a blanket. The resultant sight was not pretty, and the stink was horrible. The cat was taken to the vet, where it died of shock. Nearly half its body had been burned and all its fur was missing. Had I not seen that cat with my own eyes (because the neighbor’s wife came to my house to tell me that if my cat was out, I should get it inside immediately) I would’ve believed it was an ‘urban legend’. Animal torturers deserve punishment in the legal system. Harsh punishment, IMO. But I still think the death penalty is too severe. ---

I know a guy who once tortured a message board with ridiculous stories meant to outrage them. I heard his neighbor finally had enough and stole all the guy’s pants. ---

That sick bastard needs to be tortured himself. Hearing those kinds of things just piss me off. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who tortures other living things need to be put away. Fucking psychos. Yea, I don’t think sick fucks like that can ever be reformed. Sorry. ---

catsix: I totally agree. Animal torturers definitely exist. My ‘friend’ Alex pulled apart a baby bird while I watched in high school. He said “death was beautiful”. I threw up. Literally. But the ‘cats n lawnmowers’ myth has just been run past me one too many times. ---

Aw, fuck, I had a horrible nightmare last night about chasing down some kid who was murdering scores of neighboring cats with something that looked like an icepick or an awl. The little bastard was a biter, too. Thanks, **flood**. That one seemed to go on for _hours_. ---

1. Immobilize cat. Have you ever tried to wrap a struggling cat up in a towel to give it a pill? Good luck. 2. Dig cat-sized hole. What, at least a foot and a half for a full-sized cat. 3. Retrieve and insert struggling cat—all four legs _and_ tail—into hole, neck-deep. 4. Snugly bury cat so it cannot escape while you’re off getting lawnmower. I submit it cannot be done. ---
