I guess it’s to expensive to hire personal bodyguards for events. I’m glad Rushdie is back working. He’s very lucky to be alive after the knife attack. ---

Jury convicts man who stabbed Rushdie: attempted murder, facing a sentence of up to 25 years. Defence argued that there was no evidence of intent to kill. DA countered that stabbing someone several times in the face and neck shows intent. Rushdie’s “Knife" was a very interesting read; would recommend it. I was never big on his magical realism stuff though. ---

Very glad to hear it. I agree about _Knife_. Well worth a read; I got a little choked up reading about the other people at the event who rushed in to help Rushdie after he was attacked, at great risk to themselves.
