I get 5 newspapers at work.
On the top of three of them-- above the title-- we see a picture of Samuel L. Jackson. The fourth has a photo of Keanu Reeves. Oh! But wait-- below the fold they have a photo of Sam as Mace Windu to illustrate Canadians who wrote down their religion as ‘Jedi’ in the last census.
You’d almost think all these papers owned stock in movie companies or something. :rolleyes:

“The Family Guy” made fun of Sam Jackson being in every movie. Brian, the dog, was directing a porno which the family thought was a normal movie. Chris said “I bet Samuel L. Jackson’s in it; he’s in everything!”
In the next shot, Sam Jackson is in a robe in front of a fire with a lady while Brain is saying he’ll need to lay her down and do her.
Sorry for the hijack. It’s slightly relevant, though.

I went to this site, [http://www.cs.virginia.edu/oracle/star\_links.html](http://www.cs.virginia.edu/oracle/star_links.html), and used it to compute the number of links between Samuel L. Jackson and the Academy Award winners for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
The first Academy Award winning actor or actress I could find who had more than one link between him or herself and Samuel L. Jackson was [Lee Grant](http://us.imdb.com/Name?Grant,+Lee+(I)) who won for Best Support Actress in [_Shampoo_](http://us.imdb.com/Title?0073692) way back in 1976. Every other Oscar winner since then is no more than one person away from Sam Jackson.
After previewing, I’ll just say that, yes, I am bored, but not bored enough to repeat this entire exercise for Laurence Fishburne…
And, **tdn** , you can tighten that up a little bit. Samuel L. Jackson was in _Changing Lanes_ with Dylan Baker who was in _Planes, Trains & Automobiles_ with Kevin Bacon.

You’re not the only one, **Barbarian**. Usually I can’t even come up with the names of the actors when I need them. “Hey, it’s Samuel Jacks-- no, the other one, what’s his… ?”

Mr. Jackson has also become the “reference of choice” in rap music. I personally own three records which refer him, in some manner. And for a very uptight white fellow like myself, that’s sayin somethin.
I think he replaced Bruce Willis, whose role in Die Hard apparantly made him a bad ass as well.

Last week the movie review show Hot Ticket listed the top ten box office stars of this decade so far, based on how much money the movies in which they appeared had made. They were very surprised that Samuel L. Jackson was #1, mainly because he’s already appeared in 11 movies this decade, including blockbusters like XXX and Attack of the Clones. They had expected other box office stars to rank higher, but Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise, for example, have only made 3 movies each so far this decade.

According to the IMDB, Smuel L. Jackson has been in 72 movies since 1972. Counting the movies slated for 2003, that’s a little over one movie a year :eek:.

Anyone catch Sammy in Formula 51? Yeah it was a silly movie but watching him run around in a kilt the entire movie made it worth watching.
