Soā€™s Stan Lee and Kevin Smith (whoā€™s going to be a busy man that weekend, apparently) among others. Still wondering if Iā€™d be able to make the drive to SD and get my badge in time to see George R. R. Martin at 12:30 Fridayā€¦ (Of course if I was any kind of fanboy, Iā€™d just go Thursday and flop at a Best Western in Oceanside or somethingā€¦) ---

[/QUOTE] I got news for youā€¦there are **zero** hotel rooms closer than Old Town for that weekend. They sold out back in February. We, luckily, got a room at the Con hotel, which will be noisy but close. ---

The Trolley will be running, Friday through Sunday, [special event service direct](http://www.sandiegotrolley.com/Rider_Information/Special_Events/comiccon.asp) to the Convention Center that will include a stop at that station. According to the page I linked to, Thursday will be regular service all day; that day one would have to make one change of trolley cars to get to the Convention Center from Old Town. ---

No change necessary. You can get on the Orange Line from the Old Town stop any day of the week. ---

If anyone does take the Trolley from Old Town on Thursday, youā€™ll get on the Blue Line going south, then get off at America Plaza to catch the Orange Line to the Convention Center. For the other days of the Con, the special service direct to the Convention Center will be designated the Red Line. ---

Iā€™m going Thursday, pretty much to shop. Iā€™ve gone the past 3 years and have had an absolute blast every time. I must say Iā€™m much less excited this year since there are no Buffy/Firefly/Serenity upcoming events to preview, but it will still be fun. Thatā€™s why I opted for Thursday instead of Saturday, altho I may get p-u-l-l-e-d back for another look on Saturday. I think Iā€™m going to register online tomorrow if my girlfriend hasnā€™t managed to wheedle me a pass from some of her IT staff šŸ˜ƒ . Aah, I wish I were younger so I could wear something sexy and really frigginā€™ bizarreā€¦ _sigh_ ---
