Do you eat garlic bread with your spaghetti? I think spaghetti on buttered toast would be like eating spaghetti on buttered garlic bread. Just needs garlic!

My hillbilly cousins put Miracle Whip on everything, including fries. Most especially on beans.

Which reminds me, my dad also used to eat bean sandwiches too. I’ve eaten one or two myself. Which, [according to google, is a thing.](https://www.food.com/recipe/lindas-bean-and-mayonnaise-sandwich-sandwiches-52286)

I’m sure they still exist in many places - but it’s been at least 20 years since I saw triangular finger sandwiches. Now it’s all 3 or 6 foot heros, slider platters , sandwiches on mini bagels, mini hoagies

It’s chow mein on a hamburger bun , crispy noodles and all. It was very popular in my area when I was young , although that version didn’t use brown gravy , just the regular chow mein gravy. I will never forget the look on my Chinese husband’s face when he saw it on a menu for the first time.

Homade is the best. Back when my system could handle it, I’d make an appetizer consisting of a “brick” of cream cheese covered with Homade chili sauce…extra fancy – add some baby shrimps. Serve with Wheat Thins. Yum.

On the general topic of messy fall-apart sandwiches, Sloppy Joes in particular in this thread’s context. …

Lotta folks eat a sandwich / burger / etc. by picking it up off the plate, holding it so the plane of the bread is more or less vertical and eating it from the top down, pointing their face downwards towards the plate. So much contents spillage. So gross.

That’s nuts.

If they held it with the plane of the bread horizontally, as the good Earl intended, and ate with their head erect and face upright, they’d loose far less of their food onto their plate. Not zero for the messiest of sandwiches, but far less.

If you want an obscure regional sandwich, try this novel abomination:

> **[St. Paul sandwich](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Paul_sandwich)**
>
> The St. Paul sandwich can be found in many Chinese American restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as in other cities in Missouri, including Columbia, Jefferson City, and Springfield. The sandwich consists of an egg foo young patty (made with mung bean sprouts and minced white onions) served with dill pickle slices, white onion, mayonnaise, and lettuce between two slices of white bread. The St. Paul sandwich also comes in different combinations and specials, such as chicken, pork, shri One s...

Which gets bonus points for being named for a place it isn’t found.

We eat hard boiled egg sandwiches, and I love a breakfast sandwich with a scrambled or fried egg on toast, a croissant or an English muffin or an everything bagel. Add some bacon and I’m over the moon.

Food packaging never gives realistic serving sizes for adults. Makes the calorie and other nutrition info look better.

For take-out versions, you have to adopt the style used by lovers of Mission burritos and Maid-Rite sandwiches: Never unwrap them all the way. The wrapper is essential to containing the fallout.

Dad used to get Oscar Mayer Liverwurst slices. There were 8 in a pack, and they had the wrapper still on. As I said, I can’t find Liverwurst up here. My wife prefers Liverwurst, so I get all of the Braunschweiger when I get it.

Yesterday I had a SPAM®-and-egg sandwich for breakfast. Unfortunately, I broke the yolks so they weren’t over-easy. They were still a little runny though.
