I’m mad that Billy Joel came after Kanye so I had to listen to auto tuned crap (even Golddigger was crap) and had to turn off in the middle of In The Middle of the Night.

I watched about half before I tottered off to bed, & recorded the rest to watch tonight. But we started the DVR about 45 minutes late. This morning on the radio the morning zoo idiots were giggling about Bruce’s “viagra problem”, and I got the impression they thought he was sporting wood throughout his set. Did anyone catch it?

I did not watch the show, but based on the number of screenshots I’ve seen online a lot of people had the same impression.

They caught it when he was going through airport security.

I was in section 226. Far corner stage left. Not total nosebleed but upper level. The sound live was very good. MSG has good acoustics and they did not skimp on the sound system. The crowd had the most energy during Bruce, Bon Jovi and Billy Joel.

> [@Biggirl](#):
>
> Was Kristen Stewart drunk? I always thought she looks slack-jawed and vacant but I never realized her close together her eyes are. O.K., maybe not drunk but really, really hung over.

I think she is a shy girl in real life. Uncomfortable in front of the crowd.

> [@Cartooniverse](#):
>
> And yet, do respect how he has jumped in here from Day 1 on this.
>
> Got a great Jon Bon Jovi story which I will write out whilst he sings his wretched songs. 😃
>
> I’m a PA ( Production Assistant ) on the Bon Jovi song " Silent Night ". It’s 1985. We’re shooting at the much- missed Capital Theater in Passaic, NJ. We’re all set for the “performance”, and we wait.
>
> And wait.
>
> And wait.
>
> And wait.
>
> And fucking wait some more.
>
> My Producer and pal Loucas grabs me and says, " Toonie", he says ( heh ), " You kno where the Green Room is?" I confirm that I do.
>
> Loucas says, " You go in there and tell Jon and the rest of those assholes that we’ve been ready, are tired of waiting and to get their asses on stage RIGHT NOW ! "
>
> SO. Being the eager to please PA that I was, I walked with tremendous authority backstage to the aforementioned Green Room. There’s some immense slab of meat outside the door, but I glared at him and said, " The Producer sent me to talk to Jon ". He let me in.
>
> I go in. It’s 1985, and I’ve seen " This Is Spinal Tap " in the movies. Here is a room strewn with beer, booze, bits of catering, an assortment of pasty-faced scrawny young men with GIGANTIC hair and several doe-eyed young women who appear to be remarkably glued to some of the young men with GIGANTIC hair.
>
> I say in a loud voice filled with the righteousness that can only come with the power of The Producer flowing through my veins, " Which one of you is Jon ?? "
>
> A guy with a lion’s mane of hair says, " that’s me. " I say to the room, " Listen, Loucas is tired of waiting for you and he said you and the rest of the band better get your asses out on stage right now. "
>
> Dude’s jaw drops. I turn and walk out. Filled with righteous indignation.
>
> Slab of meat looks at me and says, " you know who that is? That’s Jon Bon Jovi. " I said, I could give a shit. We’re waiting on him.
>
> And I walk away.
>
> And in fairly short order the band and Mr. Lion’s Mane did come out and do their song seventy bazillion times to recorded playback.
>
> True story. 😃

So basically some kids playing in a band having fun with their success are not punctual but when they get scolded by a PA they promptly go out and get to work. How horrible of them.

> [@Biggirl](#):

If you didn’t stay up for it, Paul called her back out and that’s how the show closed.

> [@blondebear](#):

> Steve’s having a hard time with the Graybeards. 😛

To them Steve is not a big star to be respected. He is one of their own. So they were fucking with him. Steve started out as a member of the FDNY but left when he started getting paying acting gigs. He maintains close ties to the department.

> Keith’s cameo is part of the Quad video backdrop they’re using on the the tour.

Quadrophenia is my favorite Who album. I was thrilled to see them play it. But to me it was an odd choice for this type of event. Lots of casual fans watching. A lot of the audience had no idea what was going on.

I know no one who enjoyed kanye. But I’m not in the right demographic.

More than 15 minutes of “La la la put your cellphones in the air to show love woah woah woah”?

I enjoyed Drunk Uncle, but I’m a fan of the bit on SNL.

Anyway, it’s just filler while they changed the stage over.

Yes. That was just tedious. Drunk Uncle was embarrassing. There was no laughs and a lot of grumbling from the audience.

Nope she sang it straight. Paul mingled with the volunteers and first responders they brought up on stage.

And in the last 30 years you haven’t been able to give them a 2nd chance? Wow. That’s quite a grudge you’re holding for them making you stand up to them.

God _damn_ it…I hit the record button on the DVR and realized that there was no way the concert was going to be over in the allotted time MSG Network was saying. So I manually set it to record an extra hour.

And it cut off as soon as Dave Grohl started playing.

Heck of a leap. I never liked his voice, the lyrics or his thigh-clenching stage presence.

The story is just an amusing memory. Had I not worked on “Silent Night”, I’d still not like Bon Jovi.

I’m not a big fan but I have heard that after a little early immaturity he is a pretty stand up guy. Down to earth with fans. Married his high school sweetheart.

I wondering how it came across on TV. Through a lot of it the show basically a giant sing along. On a lot of the songs the whole arena was belting out the songs. Could you tell on TV?

Not really, except for “Baba O’Riley” and maybe parts of a Billy Joel tune.

But, I’m glad everyone who was there enjoyed it. I heard tix were super expensive - people really got their money’s worth for 6 hours of show, plus literally the biggest names in music. I’m blown away by who decided to show up, really (on stage).

During Living on a Prayer the audience was as loud as Bon Jovi.

I think the surprising part is that Kanye was allowed anywhere near a live TV show for hurricane relief after what happened last time. I assume the NYPD had snipers ready to take him out the second he went off-script.

Homeboy was so bizzy snappin and flashin’ in his black leather skirt, he barely had time to think ugly thoughts about Taylor Swift.

Much as I find him detestable, it’s fair to say that having SOME acts that appealed to the non-AARP set made a lot of sense. He’s huge. Glad he didn’t spew forth hatred last night.
