So Madonna has recorded ‘Santa Baby.’ I am withholding until I hear it a few times. [Here](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Baby) is the Wiki-link, now required by law in some states. What the heck is the lyric I am mishearing? "Santa Baby, there is one thing I need A deed to a SOMETHING SOMETHING mine " Little help? ---

Hard to figure. Since she is forcing her voice into a role, I find it hard to make a fair estimation. Sort of like the songs from Dick Tracey. ---

I’m a little confused. Her version came out in like 1987… are you just now hearing it? I’m just curious… did it take that long to make it over to Saudi (and/or have you been there since then)? ---

Not to mention that an outer-space convertible is stupid. Other modern-era artists have done “Santa Baby” with the ''53 convertible" line in it. It’s a classic car now! It’s actually worth more in real money than it was in '53! It’s a valid Christmas wish for a material girl. She should have kept that line. ---

There’s a short version of the song in an ad for a Victoria’s Secret cologne. One of the VS girls, in a red, faux-fur-trimmed hoody sort of thing, breathily sings that she’s been a really good girl, so hurry down the chimney tonight. She’s a cutie, and if I were Santa, I’d pencil in a delay at her house. Santa knows where all the bad girls live. ---

(I thought it was '52- makes a little rhyme. “A '5 **2** convertible **too** , light **blue**.” And the convertible is not from outer space (although that would be cool), it’s “out-of-space.” Whatever that means. ---

While we’re talking about misinterpretations of this particular song, I’ll just add that when I first heard it, I thought a “sable” was some sort of sword. I’m guessing I confused “sable” with “saber.” (What is a sable? According to [Wikipedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sable), it’s a small furry mammal. In this case, the singer wishes for a coat made from that animal’s fur.) ---

[/QUOTE] I’ll accept the '54, because I was going from memory. But the “out-of-space” doesn’t make any sense at all, and lyrics sites are known for having beaucoup mondegreens. ---
