I really like Eartha Kitt’s version of _I’m Getting Nothing For Christmas_, where her boyfriends get angry at her for not putting out: “I’m getting nothing for Christmas, my little Jimmy is mad; I’m getting nothing for Christmas, 'cause I didn’t want to be bad.” ---

Here’s a sample of the lyrics (keep in mind that “heart” is quite obviously a euphemism for another anatomical term–so is “finnan haddie,” now that I think of it). If I invite a boy some night To dine on my fine finnan haddie I just adore his asking for more But my heart belongs to Daddy . . . . . . . . . There was a dame a football game Made long for a strong undergraddie. But I’d never dream of making the team; My heart belongs to Daddy. . . . . . . . . . ---

Back on topic, I don’t like anything Eartha Kitt does, but I completely understand that she’s an icon whose work cannot be improved upon by whipper-snappers.
