After she got out of a week or two oin in-patient, they sent her home and she did out-patient therapy for months. Pretty much every waking hour was spent working in some way. Although she didn’t come through it totally unscathed, this woman who the doctors wanted to write off was able to regain almost all aspects of her former life. They therapists said that most people get frustrated when they don’t see immediate improvement, then give up on therapy. You have to be strong, be bull-headed, and fight for every inch you can take. Ignore the therapists saying that most of the improvement will be made the first month, three months, or whatever. Santo is scheduled to have a shunt inserted on Thursday. The doctors think that this will help his response time immensely. We are very hopeful, but of course surgery is a frightening prospect. Keep him in your prayers! ---

Pat had surgery to insert a shunt to help relieve pressure on his brain on Thursday. He did fine during surgery and came out of anethesia just great. Today he has a slight fever and possibly pneumonia. They moved him to the nuero ICU at the hospital next door. Mostly to keep a good eye on him over the weekend. We are looking forward to his recovery and can’t wait to see a difference in his response level. Thanks again to all of you for your support and prayers. ---

Pat is in ICU due to slight pneumonia and infection. He’s back on the vent, but able to breathe on his own during trials. He has some swelling in his airway, though, and this is preventing them from pulling the tube. Keep all of us in your prayers - this has been quite a week! ---

No! That’s horrible. At least he is still capable of breathing on his own. You have literally hundreds of people who are pulling for him to recover. Hopefully our energy does him some good. ---
