So[apparently](http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/02/19/1066333/-Santorum-on-euthanasia-in-the-Netherlands) Santorum said in Missouri that in the Netherlands that old people wear bracelets saying “please don’t euthanise me”, that 10% of all deaths in the Netherlands are euthanasia and that half of those are not voluntary. I just wanted to say, in case any of you wanted to visit and are getting on in years: don’t worry! it’s not true! ---

According to the linked article it was an existing urban myth. He probably heard it from someone who got it in an email forward. ---

I blame global warming. Back in the day we had enough ice floes to send the elderly off on when they got too old to be useless. Now the ice has all melted and we have to keep the fogies around, draining the Social Security budget and driving in the left lane with their blinker on. ---
