Hardball questions are supposed to be tough ones that the candidate will have trouble answering without revealing more than “political speak”. For Palin that includes ,What magazines do you read" and Who is your favorite Founding father? Those are gotcha questions because she can not give an intelligent response. Ask your kids those questions and you will get an answer. Ask Palin and she is floundering. ---

She also couldn’t name any Supreme Court cases besides Roe v. Wade. ---

The answer I’d’ve liked from Palin re: “what magazines do you read?” “I really like to go through _Popular Science_ and _Popular Mechanics_. Todd buys them all the time and I steal them, often before he gets to read them first. I like reading about American ingenuity and what crazy stuff is possible now, or five or ten years from now. Sometimes, though, I flip through old issues, though, and it makes me a little sad, because there were so many interesting ideas that just never happened, maybe they didn’t work out well, or nobody could make them affordable. Then I think about what could happen if the Democrats start pushing a lot of wild ideas and they fizzle out, doing more harm then good. Sometimes you gotta improve what you have instead of reaching for something new, just because it _is_ new. It’s being careful and realistic that makes me a conservative.” ---

CNN footage that matches the transcript will qualify as a reliable source. Please understand, I’m doing my due diligence. I know Ms Palin can’t form a coherent statement on national TV to save her [del]paycheck[/del]life, but even she deserves good source checking. ---
