Not, I should hasten to add, that this will by the system under which the US will operate in the near future, as the bill mostly provides (to the best of my understanding) the ability of everyone to obtain health insurance through private companies no matter their income or situation. ---

I’ve read five pages now, and I still think the best part is the exclamation point in the title. Sara Palin proven right! Along the lines of Man Lands on the Moon! The thought that Palin could be correct about something caught even **SA** by surprise. As if to say, “holy fucking shit, I never thought I’d see the day that Sarah Palin would be prove correct. That woman spouts so much shit on a daily basis that it never occurred to me that something she said could be correct.” Sadly, it turns out that she was not correct, she was merely proven to be _right_, as in a conservative wind bag akin to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. I find the title of this thread to be misleading, and I think a mod should add the word “apparently” or “in no way” to the title to avoid future confusion. Man, there is just so much wrong with that article, it’s worth at least 3 separate pit threads, none of which involved Palin. 1. This woman had to raise money from friends and community to get “life saving treatment.” This is what I would have pitted. When my mother went through chemo her friends and community rallied to bake her things to lift her spirit and provide nutrition. 2. The hospital refused to perform the operation because of a liability issue, this it what should have been pitted. Note that she was going to pay out of pocket, but the hospital refused to perform the operation because of a liability issue. Only as a medicaid recipient would they perform it. Scrub away all the bullshit about government involvement, the hospital refused to perform the operation because of a liability issue. "The problem is Jackson Memorial Hospital could not provide the procedure because the risk is too high. The universal policy from Medicaid helps shield the hospital from liability in this kind of case. Without it, they are subject to liability issues. " Why isn’t that the point of this pit thread? The hospital imposed the fucking death panel. It was the fucking hospital that said, “Sorry, the risk is too high for us, we think you’re better off dead.” 2-b. And then this gem, "Late Monday afternoon Jackson Memorial Hospital confirmed Smith will have her surgery later this week after all. " Why the fuck is the hospital discussing this woman’s treatment? What part of confidentiality and patient rights do they not get? I bet it’s because she voted for Obama. And just to drive the point home, THIS is the result of 8 years of Republican Utopia. You can take all your liberal hatred and stuff it in a sack. GWB had 8 years to come up with a way to make sure this shit didn’t happen, and all we got was Medicare Part D. 1. As a conservative and giant douche, you really should have been outraged that this “beautiful woman” was sucking both of the the government teets. The real problem here was that she was too lazy and too irresponsible to get a job. I mean seriously, who does she expect to pay for her health care? Some one should have wheeled her and her kid over to the nearest Tea Party rally so they could throw money at her while yelling, “don’t expect any handouts.” ---
