Yes. yes. and yes. I know you THINK you’re being ridiculously ridiculous when you bring up the whole “forced at gunpoint” retort, but what I think fails to penetrate your concrete thick skull is that when someone has to choose between the one shitty overpriced underfunded health care plan that their employer bought from the one monopolistic health insurance company carved out in their particular area because the employer has no bargaining power, when that happens, when the employee is forced to go with the once choice given or literally be denied insurance anywhere else in the free market ever just to see a fucking doctor about a fucking cold…yes. You may as well be holding a gun to the person’s head. No joke.
ahahahahahaha! I love you, Starving. You are so right…I get so much choice the way things are now. I get to choose from the plans that my employer has contracted with (yanno, the one the best suited the employer’s budget). I don’t get to choose to just get the money…no, I must take a plan or forfeit that portion of my compensation. Then I get to choose whether to use that insurance or not, in case they don’t cover something I need or someone I need to see. If I’m lucky, a doctor will see me without insurance.
Of course, when my daughter needed to see a doctor without insurance, they required $300 up front as a deposit, regardless of what the ultimate charge may end up as. She didn’t have $300, so had to borrow from my mom before she could even make an appointment. Then she had to give them the $300 before she even saw the doctor. Then they had to keep to overage until they were sure that she wouldn’t be coming back. So, sure anyone can go see a doctor without having insurance; it’s so easy.
Dumbass!
I have had insurance since I was 25 years old (with the same insurer even, and they are the best of a bad lot) and there have been several instances where I have had to argue with the insurer about what should have obviously been covered. I think you live in dream land, dear.
I am not about to read this trainwreck all the way through, but seriously–why does it matter if this woman is young and “beautiful”? Do we only care about her if she is both?
Never mind that I completely disagree with the OP’s premise. I was just struck by the title. And what if this were an old, ugly father? What then? :dubious:
This is just so fucking stupid, I’m left speechless. Page 18 now and he’s still saying the same stupid shit.
Medicaid has an income cutoff, that’s how it works.
Medicare has an age limit, that’s how it works.
Diana Smith wasn’t any more eligible for Medicaid than she was for Medicare.
If you dropped the income requirement for Medicaid, and lowered the age requirement for Medicare, all problems are solved. No one would ever face this problem again.
Starving Artist, the funniest thing about this thread, isn’t that it is the world’s largest strawman. It’s that the point of a strawman is to create a pretend argument that you can’t possibly lose.
“So what you’re saying is that cats are worse than Hitler.”
See, that’s easy to argue against. No way cats are worse than Hitler, it’s just so obvious.
You’ve gone through a lot of trouble to create a giant strawman, but you’re losing to it. You are dumber than giant bail of hay.
And how dumb is that? So dumb that you thought you could hit reply and point out that I wrote bail instead of bale.
Fuck, save us the trouble and just say that Hitler liked UHC, we shouldn’t want it then right?.
Why is it that insurance companies send so many people up shit creek when they actually need medical care? What is wrong with the system that’s preventing your magical free market from giving us perfect care 100% of the time?
I think we should stop mocking Starving Artist. It’s clear that he is suffering from a serious problem – multiple personality disorder. Let’s review the evidence:
SA1 thinks UHC would be a nightmare of uncaring bureaucrats and their death panels
SA2 thinks Medicaid/Medicare (government health insurance programs) should have no restrictions (making them universal)
SA1 is horrified by teens having sex
SA2 pines for the halcyon 50s when teens and adults could have sex and no one batted an eye
SA1 wants to bring back Prohibition
SA2 is constantly dashing off from threads to buy a six-pack
SA1 thinks musicians singing about sex and drugs while using uncouth language brought about the downfall of Western civilization
SA2 boasts about listening to Nine Inch Nails
This would also explain why Starving Artist can never remember his own posts. For example, SA1 repeatedly announces “You all were so busy dismantling the ‘Death Panels’ part of my OP, you never noticed I was equally full of shit about ‘Tricks!’ I had to point it out to you. Neener, neener, neener!” SA2 is then expressing genuine confusion when he says “I don’t recall making a big deal about who was first.”
Based on his discussion of the horrors of sex ed, SA has been living with this problem since childhood. Presumably, it was SA2 who saw the “gynecologically explicit” porn. SA1, who had seen only poorly illustrated textbooks, is thus unable to figure out which part goes where, sparing his eight-year-old playmates a full-scale molestation.
Starving also complains that government-run health care would not have to operate at a profit, but that they would nonetheless perform cost-benefit analyses that would lead to them denying care.
So - in summary SA gives the brain-dead a bad name. He’s an incompetent buffon with a room temp IQ, providing that room is in Iceland and the central heating isn’t on.
I propose we collectively shun posters like him who don’t make the slightest effort to argue in good faith and have simply no concept of ‘evidence’.
If we stop responding to any of this posts perhaps he’ll simply go away.
I often resolve to ignore posters like **SA **and **Rand **and curly. But then they say shit that is *so fucking retarded *I can’t help but respond. I think I have in the past likened it to poking at a really infected zit: you know you shouldn’t, but you can’t help but wonder what kind of disgusting ooze is going to come spurting forth.
“Dunno what happened… came time to knock him down, last thing I remember is him saying “not so fast” and rolling up his sleeves… why did I even give him sleeves? Then everything went black…”
