I had forgotten it until I saw the show . . . but I do remember it, from the '70s and no later . . . Did the '80s bring some change in canine diet?! ---

[/QUOTE] I read an article which says that the increase in vegetable protein in pet food has elimiated this- the whitening was caused by food rich in bone meal. ---

I missed the show, but maybe it’s what I used to call “petrified dog poo”. Back in the 70’s in my working class neighborhood, nobody ever picked up dog shit and it would end up aging to a whitish colored crusty dog shit. ---

I remember it turning white with age.
