While the Pubbies still show a 93% approval of her, her percentages among Dems and Independent voters have nosedived from 16% to 24%. That still leaves her with an enviable 63% approval rating as governor (down from 80%), which baffles me. The reasons for poorer ratings have little to do with her VP candidacy and everything with her change to attack dog demeanor and abdication of the stewardship of Alaska to McCain puppets. ---

Oh no. That can’t be right. McCain said today that she’s the most popular governor in the country. And of course she’s qualified for VP. He’s asked her for advice plenty of times, especially about energy policy, because she’s responsible for construction of that pipeline don’cha know. He also defended his campaign ad about Obama advocating comprehensive sex education for kindergartners. “It’s true! I don’t know about this [factcheck.org](http://factcheck.org) but it’s true – read the bill, it’s in there.” He also tossed in a total non sequitur when the reporter asked him about running an honorable campaign, but I’ve forgotten what it was. Transcript will be up at [npr.org](http://npr.org) later today. He sounded really, really tired. ---

He was saying something about how this would all affect “Joe Six-pack.” Nothing really related to what Palin was saying, but I guess they’re all going to try to throw the phrase into conversation for the next month. It was a bit incongruous coming from Hatch, though. ---
