**Mod note:**

I think this new thread was intended to be a response instead. I’m gonna try to merge it into the existing thread…::crosses fingers:::

I think **Veb** was referring to bugs’s post. This thread seems to still be open.

All generalisations are wrong (well, maybe not, but this one certainly is).

> I’ve never actually been a big fan of being ‘mothered’, except when I’m really sick, and turn into a big baby, anyway. Then, I really like it. But, otherwise, I find it just this side of creepy. I loved and respected my mother, but I never had any trace of an Oedipal complex and I never wanted to “marry a girl just like Mom”. The kind of things I was talking about aren’t the domestic, motherly type of things, like cooking and fussing over me (Though, damn, it would be nice to find a woman who is a _little_ domestic, once in a while. Maybe, even, one who can cook?). The little things I was referring to are things that one does for one’s lover, not one’s children. But, I know there are guys who _do_ love being ‘mothered’. Maybe, if my mother had been the ‘fussing’ type, I would like it more. \*\*

well, i want to give to the term ‘mother-type’ women a more flexible meaning. for the purposes of my question it will mean women who have a career but they like domestic things as well, such as cooking, and generally take care of her man and not women who treat men like kids who don’t know what to do in their lives and you have to guide them or something. I am not sure in which type you were referring so don’t take it the wrong way. personally, when i am in a relationship i want the guy to be protective and supportive, and i want to be supportive as well but also i want to cook something nice for him to let him know that i care (this is one of the ways) and because i like to see him happy and ‘satisfied’. that of course, doesn’t mean that i want to be a house wife, no offence to those who do it, but i think is very difficult to be in a house all the time. i want to have my life outside and inside the house.

now, is it a myth or not that men are some times afraid of women that have a career etc. and they see them in a competitive way? that you want your partner to be clever but not more than you?
i all ears guys 🙂

Not me. Sure you can say “some men”, but that kind of goes without saying doesn’t it? I mean, _some_ men believe that aliens are beaming signals into their brains, but that doesn’t really tell us anything useful about _all_ men.

I can’t think of any women friends of mine who do not have a career, nor can I think of any male friends who would object to a woman having a career. And I find intelligence extremely attractive. Personally, I suspect that guys who go for the “bimbo” type women probably aren’t too intelligent themselves.

You know a thought just occurred to me. I never thoght a guy saying “I’ll call you” ever meant anything other than “I’ll call you” I don’t expect him to call me as soon as he gets home but I can’t really remember sitting by the phone and waiting for it to ring either. Maybe you just get out of people what you expect to see.

Respect a guy and he generally respects you back. It’s contagious that way.

Hmm. Okay. That sounds more like my definition of a good partner, whether you’re talking about men or women, than my definition of a “mothering” type woman. What you describe sounds wonderful. 🙂

You’re all ears? How do you type? 😉

I don’t think you’re going to find too many guys on this board who would object to their ladies having careers outside the house. My impression is that most of the men, here, are pretty sophisticated, and that’s a very old fashioned attitude. It probably still exists, in some areas. But, it’s probably a lot more common in rural areas, if anywhere, rather than in metropolitan areas. And, I’d bet most of the members, here, are fairly metropolitan.

As for me, intelligent women are the sexiest. The only time it’s _not_ appealing is when it’s combined with ruthless ambition. I don’t mean women who want to succeed; I mean women who want to succeed so badly that they’ll stop at nothing to achieve their goals. I’ve met a couple of them, and they’re scary. There’s something not right about them. But, would I mind if the lady were more clever or intelligent than I? No. Not at all.

I don’t how many men share this POV, but I get more satisfaction making my wife orgasm as many times as she is capable before she practically begs me to. I am definitely in control here, doing whatever I can to give her the pleasure with tongue, fingers, toys, imagination, etc. before I start thinking of any reciprication. One session had her orgasming 7 times, in about two hours. My wife seems even more beautiful to me when her muscles are tensed, and her arms and legs are stretched out and the expressions on her face are just plan flat out adorable. Sometimes a little dirty talk can coax me into not holding back though, and my wife starts doing that when she gets a little worn out and wants me to finish real soon.

I’m not up for the chase either, unless the woman really has the desire of being captured and expresses that need. Otherwise, first impressions mean alot and “Homey don’t play that”. My wife fits my needs near-perfectly.
