I sat down and watched _Tokyo Godfathers_ tonight in his honor. Absolutely loved it. Tomorrow: Paprika ---

I didn’t really like his wackier stuff, but I loved _Tokyo Godfathers_ and _Millennium Actress_. Such a shame, there could have been plenty more films like it… ---

I don’t usually cross-post, but you all might be interested in his final blog entry, which I talk about over in MPSIMS. He wrote a lengthly document for his final words and farewell. [Last Words of Satoshi Kon](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=576297) ---

Unfortunately, I haven’t found time to rewatch **TG** yet, but as for **Paprika** ; I’ve watched this anime drunk, and I’ve watched it sober and loved it either way. I really don’t want to spoil the movie for those who have not seen it, but the insanity parade alone is a good enough excuse to see this work of art. Oh and that scene where Paprika gets “stripped” from her inner self. 😃 ---

Not a fan of Paprika just because I’ve seen too many anime end by turning the main character into an all-powerful being who has to settle some decision (an equivalent to deus ex machina, except that the character is the deus). All of his other movies are fantastic, though. I can’t think of anyone (over the age of 18) to whom I wouldn’t feel safe recommending **Perfect Blue**.
