# Saul Bass Google doodle

Today’s (May 8th) Google doodle is a tribute to Saul Bass incorporating his movie title animations. I’m recognizing most, but not all including the opening one. Let’s see if we can complete the list.

1. ? Gray bars on black sliding to Google

2. _Man with a Golden Arm_ Arm picking up primary color Google

3. _Advice and Consent_ Maroon Washington images segueing to . . .

4. _Sparticus_ Maroon Roman images segueing to . . .

5. _West Side Story_ Maroon New York images (I think he liked maroon)

6. _Vertigo_ Swirly eye

7. _North by Northwest_ Teal rectangles

8. _Anatomy of a Murder_ Disassembled body

9. ? Blue and magenta dots

10. _Around the World in Eighty Days_ Map with running watch

This was done without looking anything up do, did I get any wrong? What are the two I don’t recognize?

Bonus question: Is there a connection between any of the above and Brubeck’s _Unsquare Dance_?

Thank you both. Looks like I overran with [_Advice and Consent_](http://www.titledesignproject.com/2008/07/advise-and-consent/). There’s no color in it at all. Guess I can’t tell the difference between Federalist and Roman architecture.

I don’t know, but the vibe is exactly right for Saul Bass’s visual style.
