When I was [driving on track](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/ask-the-high-performance-driving-instructor/354791), my home track had occasional issues with deer running across the track, especially early in the morning. And naturally, we were all going as fast as we could at any given point on the course. One thing I learned is that where there is one deer there usually are more. So if you have a close call with one deer, don’t let your guard down. Keep your eyes open for more.
