Saw a SovCit licence plate

I have thought about getting a Crown Victoria for my fake business, Polite Maintenance. The front fenders would have “POLITE” in low contrast colors. The doors would have a “seal” made of garlands and crossed shovel and rake with the words “Polite Maintenance” wrapped around the top and “We service and protect your lawn” around the bottom. Maybe some red and blue plastic pans on the roof.

I had a friend who once owned a Crown Vic, with a luggage rack on the roof. Said it was irritating to drive at night, as cars in front of him would slow down, until they saw he wasn’t a cop.

Saw an Oregon plate, but the color and script were off, there were no tags and it had three numbers that were offset all the way to right.

When I was in high school, one of my broke HS pals bought a former local city police car at auction. Plain white, but with the badly painted over city seal & other markings and numbers. Of course the city had removed the light bar and the spotlights through the A-pillars. My friend had one of those spotlights and put it in the driver-side holes left by the City. And put a CB antenna (yes, that era) through the antenna hole left on the roof.

We spent a lot of time cruising in that car. It was a mobile traffic jam. Wherever we went, everybody suddenly started driving conservative, and doubly so at night. The headlight and taillight pattern on that year, make, and model were quite distinctive and the city still had lots of those cars and had had for a 3-4 years now. Everyone in town knew how to recognize those cars from a distance. And did.

Good times. Unless you were in a hurry and then it was a PITA.

'74 Monaco?

It’s got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it’s got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It’s a model made before catalytic converters so it’ll run good on regular gas.

It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark… and we’re wearing sunglasses.

Hit it.

That site cant be reached, but here-

This is why “Fuck Around and Find Out” is a thing.

In many states you can have yellow flashing lights legitimately.

You have all seen “Blues Brothers” right?

I am deeply shocked at the revelation that Allan attended a conference “which featured speakers who shared misinformation about COVID-19, vaccines and the 2020 election, with multiple references to the QAnon conspiracy theory.”

It’s almost as if crank magnetism is real.

*it’s misleading to refer to “the QAnon conspiracy theory” in the singular since there are many different although related ones.

OTOH, believers in any of them tend to believe all of them.

So in one sense, yes they’re unrelated and e.g. the MH17 shootdown isn’t related to black helicopters or COVID vax hoaxes. OTOH, they are all part of a coherent coordinated disinformation campaign run by QAnon for significant profit and no small fun (for them).

Depending on how splittist / lumpist one chooses to be, these can reasonably be seen as all one interconnected CT, much as all the seemingly separate toadstools in a lawn are probably connected underground into a single mega-fungus.
