Another one that’s more in the response than the question: if you ask someone if they smoke and they answer with the clarifying “cigarettes?”, well then you have an inkling they’re a friend of Herb’s. Not an intentional tell or slang, but telling nonetheless. ---

All these relate to the same thing: 1. Don’t drop the marble! 2. 4 to 5? At 216? With these runs? 3. Set! You might be a member of this group if you can measure 5 yards perfectly, but you always take 8 steps to do so; unconsciously walk in step with others in your group; and are a high schooler who thinks of the sexual meanings _second_ when hearing the words fingering or tonguing. Also if you don’t know what a free Saturday in fall is like, and always carry an extra pair of black socks, just in case. ---
