No matches on several sites. That’s one thing the scammers seem to have learned is to use images that are not commonly indexed. ---

Worth noting those are also _square_ dollars, since the number is prefixed AND suffixed with USD terms. I have been offered cubic dollars in the past and very occasionally higher dimensions than that. ---

If it was some type of (mutual) fund that was being shut down, the funds would go back to the investors, not to some random stranger. These ridiculously large amounts don’t even pass the sniff test of plausibility. …& what’s that address at the top? I’ve heard of New York, NY but where is New YNO WAY DO BY MY Sork, NY? ---

They’ve copied and pasted that in from somewhere (why would you need to know when construction started?) . Perhaps from somewhere that has the information formatted in such a way as to hamper copying and pasting. ---

It’s worth noting also that some of these scam templates may have been edited by people whose first language is not English, and perhaps doesn’t use the Latin alphabet. It’s a lot easier to make silly mistakes in that kind of context It has been hypothesised that the implausibility of the emails is a deliberate choice to filter out any potential participants who are sufficiently switched on and paying attention. I’m not sure I believe that happened on purpose, but I do think it’s a thing that could have evolved, since there is selection and differential advantage in the mix. ---

Got an email that the tickets have been played. Just a “click this(certainly dodgy, possibly problematic) link”. From behind a VPN, opened a private window and went to Browserling, an online sandbox browser, to actually check out the link. What a surprise, one of the tickets won. $442,996 While I was typing this, got another email that I now have a personal manager on my account. ---

You should tell her that you are a surgeon also and ask if she prefers open or laparoscopic approaches for a right hemicolectomy. Or how many Whipple procedures she’s done. Which postoperative antibiotics she prefers and why.
