Youtuber Kitboga posted a video of himself stringing along a scammer pretending to call from his bank. He takes on the persona of an elderly woman, a lawyer, and a couple of bank representatives until the scammer gets so flustered he hangs up. Hilarious!

That’s this Youtuber’s schtick. He scams scammers, deleting files from their computers and infiltrating their call centers. His old lady voice is annoying, but it seems to work on the scammers.
There are a few Youtubers who do that, they can be very entertaining.

Minor point. Kitboga does not get into scammers’ computers and delete files. He’s very strict about not breaking the law or allow any racism in the live chat((on his Twitch channel).

It’s not YouTube, but there’s an episode of Reply All where someone tries to scam Alex Goldman (host) and he _flies to India_ to track the scammer down. It gets more complicated from there.

I like these ‘scamming the scammer’ stories. Years ago somebody had a website or blog where he chronicled how he strung along some Nigerian scammers with increasingly outlandish demands. They followed through with a surprising amount of them before finally giving up.
One demand was that the scammers send photos of themselves standing on one foot wearing silly hats, which they did and the guy posted the pics on his site.
Another was that they create and send hand-carved wooden figures of Simpsons characters. Which they also did, and again photos were provided on the website. The carved figures were surprisingly detailed and well-made. I almost started feeling sorry for the Nigerian scammers.
I just tried a quick googling to see if it’s still online, but no luck.

I remember a thread here from, oh jeez must be about ten years ago, where the poster was sharing his “scam the scammer” story of how he convinced an email scammer that he was a professional wrestler who went by the name “Spork”, and even got her to send him a picture of herself holding a sign that read “I’ve Been Sporked!”

Was it on [419 Eater](https://www.419eater.com/)? That site has been around for almost 20 years. They have lots of stories and pictures of scammers they strung along.

Heh. I remember one of their stories where they got the scammer to literally travel to a war (well, insurrection-y) zone and stand in the street holding up a sign insulting Islam. There are some disturbingly talented people on that site.

I swear I’ve seen a video of a couple scammers who were convinced to re-enact the Dead Parrot Sketch.
