# Scammers calling to non english speaking countries?

also in TO, and I also get a large percentage of Chinese language spam/scam calls.

Yeah, my wife reported them as well. She said most of the scammers had Mainland China accents.

There’s an advantage to living in a tiny country with a unique language:  
There are virtually no scam calls.

And also, when you call Visa about your credit card account, or you call tech support at your internet company, you talk to a local person you can understand.

Because nobody in India speaks Hebrew.

When we had a Swiss landline, we would get scam calls in English which were allegedly from Microsoft.

I rarely answer my cell phone if the number is unknown, but a few times I got caught out by the well known Swiss police scam.

The best part? It’s in English. The Swiss police will a) never call, they will just show up and b) they will speak German (at least in my region).

Out here in smaller towns, we get the police coming around to say hello. The local guy just stopped by with a flier warning people about scams, including the information saying that they will never call and demand money.
