Okay. I wanted to submit a picture of myself to the Unofficial Straight Dope Picture Pages (as featured in MPSIMS and [here](http://members.aol.com/jonahjamsn/sdmbpix.html)). Well, I scanned it on my Windows '98 machine with my UMAX Astra 1220P scanner into Photoshop 2.0 Deluxe (well, okay, all of the above is my mother’s equipment as I don’t own a scanner). This thing came out both huge and with really crummy resolution. I’m on page 5 of the above link if you want to see how bad the resolution is.
I’ve seen pretty good quality pictures come off the printer on this machine, so my question is: Anyone have any idea how I can get it to look better when I next scan it? Thanks to **Max Carnage** for getting this good of a result.
