Scare Tactics would be a profoundly bad idea to pull on me…
You see, I have a concealed carry permit, and if I feel my life is genuinely in danger, somebody’s (or something) is gonna get plugged…(no, I don’t have an itchy trigger-finger…if I did, I’d have never been issued the permit!)
First off, jumping to scare a friend is one thing. It amounts to a short jump and thats it. This crap though is a bit hard to take as it can go for however long they feel like doing so.
Second off, on Halloween you can expect something like that. Its the night of frights so to speak, so if you have friends that like tricks, you can set youself to expect that.
And it would be different if it was a “rubber mask boo” shit. My god, killing someones dog? Are you that cold to not feel hurt when something you or someone you knew cared for died violently?
I have seen some advertised where these people are treated like they have been exposed to something radiological.
Thats right. “Hey in this age of terrorism and real threat, lets freak a guy out by pretending he is exposed to radiation or chemicals. Haw Haw! Fuckin Hilarious!”
Yes, onyxtyghr, I’ve participated in a haunted house and a haunted hayride sponsored by service groups and I did my best to scare the shit out of the visitors.
That was entirely different from the shit you’re defending (visitors knew there were going to be people trying to scare them and we were not humilating anyone by taking videos in either case).
As for not watching the show, the description is enough, coupled with what little reality television. I don’t have to buy Brittney Spears’ latest album to know she’s lucky to carry a tune in a bulldozer bucket.
[sarcasm]
Hey, I would like to be your friend so that I can sign you up for Scare Tactics. Why not we meet over a cup of coffee someday? It’s so harmless and so cute so I guess you wouldn’t mind to be the butt of a ‘simple, harmless joke’ in Scare Tactics.
[/sarcasm]
If you do read the post, btw, some people here watched the show and found it not funny.
Man you people must have some boring friends. The way I see it, anyone who is not comfortable enough with me to bust on me every once in awhile is not my friend. Not the other way around.
Of course, you people who say “anyone who does this to me is not my friend” obviously have friends that know that and, as a result, you will never ever have to worry about being on this show, so why ruin for everyone else? I saw the show and most of the “victims” had a good laugh.
I say to each his own and if you don’t like it then turn it off.
I think you may be confusing relief with amusement. I’m not so sure that going through life knowing that you’d videotape someone dying instead of calling 911 because some guy in a lab coat told you to do so is a burden that most people would be glad to carry. I don’t see how being set up by friends makes that any more acceptable. Would you please explain to me how it is that the Milgram Experiment, which garnered important scientific information about human nature and gave disturbing insight into the holocaust, is considered to be highly unethical, whereas making some poor slob think that he just shot somebody, when he knew it was a bad idea, just because an authority figure told him to do so is fun, harmless entertainment?
