This _is_ pretty mundane and pointless, but I thought I’d share.

You know the _Horst Wessel Lied_? Basically the Nazi party anthem—used notably in the _Wolfenstein_ games for the whippersnappers out there.

Anyway, I found out, quite by accident, if you take the MP3 famous period recording of that song, and slow it way down—in Apple quicktime, by control-clicking the fastforward/rewind buttons on the player window, and moving the unhidden slider over one “notch” from the center—you get the scariest goddamn song you’ll ever hear.

Seriously, it’s what you’d expect a friggin’ demon army to chant as they slowly trudged across a postatomic wasteland, dragging mauls and axes behind them in the sand in their skeletal grip. Like _Wizards_ or _The Black Cauldron_ or somethin’.

That’s all. 'Thought I’d share.

Thank you. Now I know what _not_ to listen to.
